Reese's Fudge Bars:
INGREDIENTS:
*20-22 regular sized individual Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (unwrapped)
*1 (14 oz.) can of sweetened condensed milk
*3 cups of chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
1. Line a square baking pan with foil and spray cooking spray. (The original recipe calls for 9x9, I used 8x8)
2. Unwrap 16 of the peanut butter cups in an even layer on the bottom of the pan.
3. Place chocolate chips in condensed milk in a microwaveable bowl. Heat together in 30 second increments, stirring to combine until melted. (This mixture will be thick, be careful not to overheat) Once melted, spread evenly over peanut butter cups in pan. Chop up remaining Reese's and immediately sprinkle over the fudge, pressing down very lightly into the top layer.
4. Cool until firm, then cover with foil or plastic and refrigerate for several hours to harden completely. Cut into squares and serve.
*I've also tried these with Heath bars, and they turned out great! These bars are delicious but very rich- as fudge tends to be-so don't be afraid to cut them into smaller squares.
I have never been overly fond of fudge because it is usually too sweet for my taste and I have never liked the hard sugary texture. I tried this recipe and it is delicious! I didn't find it too sweet, and the texture was smooth and creamy. There is also just the right amount of peanut butter. Definitely a winner! Thanks Pickled Marie
